Doug Oliphant Dedicated His Life to Community Service

The Oliphant Community Golf Tournament is dedicated to Doug Oliphant because of his unwavering commitment to faith-based community service throughout his life in Lake Oswego, OR.

Doug was a direct descendent of John Course Trullinger, who purchased the original town site of Oswego. For more than 45 years, Doug faithfully served the city of his ancestors.

He was tirelessly involved in numerous charities and community programs including Donate Life NW, Your Everyday Cross Ministries, and Lakewood Center for the Arts. It was his inspiration and perseverance that brought The Garden Corner’s hanging flower baskets to life in Lake Oswego over 30 years ago.

Doug was an ongoing ambassador for the Lake Oswego Public Golf Course always offering his time and dedication in support of “the Muni” even up to his death. The notable improvements to the practice range completed in 2014, and planned 2016 upgrades, were just a part of Doug’s vision.

Doug received the Bob Bigelow Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014 for his outstanding service to the community.
